Okay, barely. My car went into the shop today to get an oil change and a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! When I went to pick up my car, I very briefly got the chance to poke around the owner's car, a 2007-ish Mercedes G500. It's hard not to be cliché with this car, because Panzer is really the only nickname I can come up with for it (and here we go again). Also, it should be noted that while we know very little about Fort Knox, we can assume the main vault is sealed with the door off of a G-Wagon. The solidity and German-ness of closing that door was incredible. Funny, because the guy who works on cars like this for a living said it was a complete money pit.

Anyhow, I asked him while it was there if he could fix the only electronic toy not working on my car, which is amazing considering it's a 12 year old Audi with 12 year old Audi electronics. That one part was the power rear sunshade, the single least useful feature on the car. He came to the conclusion that the motor worked fine, but that when it tucked away it got caught under its own cover-hole in the rear hat shelf. He advised me to fiddle with it and see what worked. I ended up clipping one of those !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! to the rim of the gap, so the blind could go down and sit flush with the shelf, but not disappear under it. And it worked!
So, for a grand total of $0, I managed to give myself a working rear shade, and inadvertently also probably gave myself the only D2 A8 with every electronic component functioning.

Dat G-Wagen. Did you open the doors and close them again for like an hour straight?

Yes, they are. The Infiniti I bought has one, but it's off track and needs to be fixed, but it is a cool, if ultimately useless, feature.

So far, he's been an excellent mechanic, as well as a dealer (he's who we bought the car from).
